EVENT DETAILS

You Heard It Through the Grapevine

Allow yourself to get caught up in the springtime reawakening of flora, fauna, and flavor. See gorgeous garden spaces not normally open to the public in historic Williamsburg. And explore the relationship between Mother Earth’s bounty and our vibrant food culture through winery tours and tastings.

Your vernal adventure begins with check-in at Marriott’s Manor Club at Ford’s Colony, followed by a welcome dinner in the Colony Room at Ford’s Colony Country Club. Dine with fellow Owners and savor regional flavors with a bold spin from an award-winning executive chef.

On Day 2, you’ll visit two gorgeous wineries to experience for yourself how Virginia has developed into a region for wine excellence, starting with veteran-owned Gauthier Vineyard. Their estate wines are made exclusively from Norton grapes harvested in an ideal location in the Shenandoah Valley. After a tour and tastings, you’ll discover how their wines perfectly pair with a delicious on-site lunch. Next, you’ll head to New Kent Winery for another tour and tasting. The winery itself was built using materials form several century-old structures, and you’ll appreciate modern technique and state-of-the art equipment used to craft their varietals.

On Day 3, the Williamsburg Garden Club will host you on a guided walking tour of private homes and gardens in the restored historic area that are rarely open to the public. See these inspired residences and landscapes at the peak of spring and during the celebrated annual Historic Garden Week.
